Philly Loft

This client relocated to a new loft space in Philadelphia, featuring an open-concept layout with dramatic windows and tall ceilings. He sought to create a mature, sophisticated environment that better reflected his personal and professional growth. Within the common room, the design needed to incorporate spaces for his office, dining area, living room, and pantry. Key items that had to remain included his desk and gaming chair, dining table and chairs, and a collection of artwork. After discussing his style preferences, budget, and functional needs, I began the rendering process before visiting the space, allowing me to establish a layout guide for the loft.

Through careful furniture placement, floor coverings, and paint, we were able to define distinct areas within the open space. When entering the loft, I wanted both him and his guests to experience a seamless flow into the living and dining spaces. By positioning the dining area to the right and relocating his office near the windows (for optimal natural light as he works remotely), we created a comfortable and functional layout. To further define the spaces, a bookcase was placed between the dining and office areas, offering visual privacy for each. The sofa was positioned facing the left wall to eliminate any visual distractions from the office when he is off the clock.
